DC Chinatown Engagement Session

They say opposites attract and this is so true for this awesome couple Kim and Sherrod. Kim is from California and is so sweet and laid back. Sherrod is a native New Yorker with a lot of personality and together Kim and Sherrod are the perfect pair.

Kim and Sherrod first met at their neighborhood’s community picnic where Sherrod was manning the grill. Kim just finished riding her motorcycle around town and was not planning on attending the picnic. Kim’s next door neighbor spotted her walking home and stopped to talk to Kim about the picnic. Her neighbor said she should come out and not be anti-social as the picnic was winding down. Kim declined at first but decided it would be a good idea to meet some of the neighbors.

Sherrod was the first person Kim met at the picnic. It was not love at first sight for Kim but it was for Sherrod. Kim’s neighbor quickly introduced them and they started to talk. Their first conversation was about motorcycles and they talked for a good 30 minutes. After the picnic was over, they all walked our separate ways. No contact info was exchanged at the first meeting.

The second time they met was when Sherrod was visiting Kim’s next door neighbor and they were outside having a casual conversation. Kim happened to step outside for a minute and saw them both. They proceeded to walk over to Kim and they all started talking to each other for an hour or so. The next thing Kim knew her neighbor walked off and it was just her and Sherrod. Kim and Sherrod talked for a while and exchanged numbers. Sherrod texted Kim immediately and the rest is history.

Kim and Sherrod have planned to have their wedding at The Source by Wolfgang Puck at the National Harbor and I’m looking forward to being apart of it as their wedding photographer. We decided on having an engagement session that was a mesh of both of their personalities. We started with a formal session and ended off with a casual look in DC Chinatown. Enjoy some of the photos we made from their session below and Contact Us to schedule your engagement session.
